By "Natural" we mean that our soaps are made using only natural ingredients, we use a traditional Cold Process using only plant based oils and butters, our fragrances and colours are obtained using essential oils, clays and plant roots, we do not use mica powders or artificial colours, fragrances, parabens, SLS, SLES, phthalates or GM ingredients.

We are proud to say that all our soap ranges are suitable for vegans and contain only natural plant based ingredients.

We do not use palm oil in our soaps, this particular oil may be cheap but it comes at a tremendous cost to the environment. Palm oil has been linked to many environmental, animal and human rights violations.

Here at The Potting Shed, we choose to use environmentally sustainable products to make our soaps.

We are proud to say that none of our products or the ingredients that we use have not been tested on animals, so are completely cruelty free.

All our products have ingredients listed on the label, please check before using.

Some of our products are made using sweet almond oil or macadamia nut oil.

We take great care to use packaging that is plastic free.

Our tissue paper is made from100% recycled pulp fibres, and is acid free.

Our labels are biodegradable.

We use wood wool for protecting our products in transit, which is 100% biodegradable.

We use a biodegradable tape to secure our boxes and the glue on our labels is plastic free.

The labels on our jars are made from recycled paper

All of our recipies are tested by a reputable Cosmetics Safety Consultant and the product information is logged with the government cosmetics portal in line with up to date cosmetic legislation.

The cold process in soap is made by combining oils and sodium hydroxide lye which causes a chemical reaction called saponification, once the soap is saponified and cured there will be no sodium hydroxide left in the soap.
